we are in the 21st century now,1700's would of been 18th century

If some thing started in the 1700s and we are in the 20th cetrury, which is the 1900s. Then it's more than 100 years. It can never be 300 years. But it might be more than 200 years.

All dependes on the starting and ending point. If it started in the early or late 1700s. And if it ended in the early or late 1900s

We are in the 21st century. You would refer to the 1700s (18th century) as 3 centuries ago.

If something began in 1607 (17th century) and continued until 1907 (20th century) the time elapsed world be 300 years or three centuries.

1700'S WOULD BE THE 18TH CENTURY AND WE ARE IN THE 21ST CENTURY SO THE DIFFERENCE WOULD BE 3 CENTURIES DEPENDING ON WHEN IN THE 1700'S YOUR INCIDENT BEGAN.
