As I came back home, I remembered how wonderful was the voyage that I made to Italy. It had all started one day when my father took the decision to visit our relatives in that country and two week later, after packaging our luggage, we departed to the airport where our problems began.

As soon as we reached the airport, my father realized that there was no place to park therefore; we spent five minutes trying to park the car. When we finally found a place and we entered the airport, my sister became aware that she didn’t have her passport. We all despaired thinking that my sister had lost or forgotten the passport, but as quick as a flash, my mother found it in her bag. After that problem and even though all seemed fine, when my mother weighed the luggage, the person who did it, warn her that the luggage was too heavy and that she must leave some of the things out, but my mother denied to do this and my sister suggested her to put some of the thing in her handbag which was quite big. During all this time, my father was in the long queue ready to check in and later than all the previous problem with the luggage had finished, we join him. After half an hour we could check in and two hour later, we were on the plane departing to Italy.

Now, as I came into my home, I laughed when I remember our problems in the airport.

Here are some suggestions:

Upon my return home, I remembered how wonderful my voyage to Italy had been. It had all started the day on which my father decided to visit our relatives in that country. Two weeks later, after packing our luggage, we departed to the airport where our problems began.

As soon as we reached the airport, my father discovered that there was no place to park. Therefore, we spent five minutes trying to part the car. When we finally entered the airport, my sister realized that she did not have her passport. We all despaired, thinking that my sister had either lost or forgotten her passport. However, as quick as a flash, my mother found it in her bag.

After that problem, everything seemed fine. For a moment. Then, during the weighing of the luggage, it turned out that my mother's bag was too heavy. She was faced with the decision of what to leave out of it, but she could not do this. My sister suggested that she put some of the items in her large handbag. During all this time, my father stood in the long queue ready to check in. Later, we were able to join him. After half an hour, we checked in, and two hour laters, we were on the plane to Italy.

Now, as I enter my home, I laugh as I remember our mishaps at the airport.

Those are a few suggestions in a re-write. Very minor suggestions.

This should do it

As I come back home, I remember how wonderful the journey was that I had made to Italy. It had all started one day when my father took the decision to visit our relatives in that country and two weeks later, after packing our luggage, we departed to the airport - where our problems began.

As soon as we reached the airport my father realized that there was no place to park; therefore we spent five minutes trying to park the car. When we finally found a place and entered the airport, my sister became aware that she didn’t have her passport. We all despaired thinking that my sister had lost or forgotten the passport but, as quick as a flash, my mother found it in her bag. After that problem, and even though all seemed fine, when my mother weighed the luggage the person who did it told her that her luggage was too heavy and that she must leave some of the things out. My mother denied to do this so my sister suggested to our mother that she put some of her things into her handbag which was quite big. During all this time my father was in the long check-in queue and later, when all the previous problems with the luggage had been resolved, we joined him. After another half an hour we checked in and, two hours later, we were on the plane and on our way to Italy.

Now, as I come into my home, I laugh when I remember our problems at the airport.

How's this?

As I came back home, I remembered how wonderful the trip was that I made to Italy. It had all been decided one day a few weeks ago, when my father took the decision to visit our relatives in that country. Two weeks later, after packing our luggage, we departed to the airport and that's where our problems began.

As soon as we got there, my father realized that there would be difficulty parking the car, so we spent a good five minutes or so trying to find a spot. We finally found a place and parked up. As we entered the airport, my sister became agitated as she was unable to locate her passport. We all became despaired thinking that she had lost or forgotten it but, eventually, my mother found it in her bag.

A little later, when all seemed to be going well, my mother weighed in the luggage. The attendant, who was checking the weight on the scales, warned her that her suitcase was too heavy and that she must leave some of the things out, or pay a surcharge. which my mother declined to do, but my sister suggested a solution. This was to transfer some of the articles to her handbag, which was quite big and relatively empty, and would then distribute the weight more evenly and be counted as hand luggage only. Problem solved.

During this time, my father had joined a queue a small distance away, and which was quite long, and was getting ready to check in. A little later, when the problem with the luggage had been resolved, we joined him. After half an hour or so we managed to check in and two hours later, after refreshments in the Departure Lounge, we were on the plane flying to Italy.

Now, as I returned home, I laughed when I remembered our problems in the airport and how small they really were although, at the time, they seemed quite serious.
