I do not find that anything in the Constitution, nor anything in the writings of those who wrote the Constitution, supports such a practice.

Quite an interesting quandary! The original intent was just like welfare--a good idea that went political. Farmers started out using subsidizing from govt as a way to get rid of over production. The idea was to level the playing field. You can correlate it to the original idea of helping with the floods in New Orleans. The idea was to help-until the politicians turned it into pork barrel for votes. Now enter Corporate farming---it is now corporate welfare on a colossal basis!! It would be very easy to control, you just need to limit the amount of pay out-- Corporate will sell out of farming like rats leave a sinking ship. Welfare could be worked the same, but that is another subject!! USMC 60-68

I come from a long line of Farmers who never got a nickle of farm subsidy money, but all these other local farmers get it,and end up filing bancruptcy, because they have no experience at running a business they just keep looking for more government money. Heck the government even pays some of them not to farm. They give them money to plant crp grass instead of crops, and then pay them so much money every year to keep it in crp grass. It's stupid. Farm Subsidizing is killing the small family farm, and helping corporate farming.

It's a tad bit late for that debate. Farm subsidies have been around for AGES.

NO. END CORPORATE WELFARE NOW.

Corporate welfare is even more insidious than individual welfare because it interferes directly with consumer choice.
