You can't go through life with regrets and "if only" or "what if". It will drive you crazy. Sometimes you just have to go for it and if it was meant to be, then it will be. If not, don't worry about it. Everything is a circle and sooner or later, things come back around.

they could both be the same thing, either can be followed with "i had/nt done that" but as quick as you take a chance on something in life the opportunity is there for you to regret being so spontaneous and wanting to forget you ever did it, people will allways have regrets, major or minor things could have allways been done differently.
Unless your truly happy with the person you are the second before you die as your actions and experiences make you who you are, your going to have at least one of these running through your mind. I believe!!!

If only is the worst because you would be thinking of how things could have been different if you had done something else.

You are right: "if only" is useless, there is nothing you can do about it. And involves some regrets.

"If only..."

Because that means you had the chance and didn't take up on the opportunities that were presented before you.
