When I put my first tampon in I could feel it's presence, like I could feel it was there but it wasn't uncomfortable. Then when I took it out, it was filled with blood (even the string) was covered with blood. When I took it out, it hurt. The next day I put in a new tampon and it made me feel sort of sick, but I think it was the cramps. I felt like my stomach wasn't settled and I had a headache. Is this normal? Right now I feel much better. (Particulary because my mom is making my favorite meal.) Do I have TSS?

Also what is an STD???? People talk about it but what is it?

Thank you

You shouldn't feel it at all. If even the string was covered with blood, you need to change your tampons more often. It doesn't sound like you have TSS, it was probably just menstrual cramps.

"General symptoms of toxic shock syndrome include:

Flulike symptoms, such as muscle aches and pain, stomach cramps, headache, or a sore throat. The flulike symptoms of TSS are common to many illnesses, but they develop much more quickly and are more severe than symptoms caused by a less serious illness.

Sudden fever over 102° (38.89°).

Vomiting and diarrhea.

Sunburnlike rash.

Signs of shock, including low blood pressure and rapid heartbeat, often with lightheadedness, fainting, nausea, vomiting, or restlessness and confusion.

Conjunctivitis (pinkeye). "

No you should not be able to feel a tampon if it is inserted correctly! one reson you may feel it is if it is not up high enough in your cervix, once it is in place you cannot tell you have one in! If the string was covered on blood maybe try changing it more often to prevent leaking and tss! I doubt very much the tampon will ahve given you tss just make sure you change it every 4 hours or so! and STD are sexually transmitted diesese's
