would you move to another contry with your companion if they were being kicked out of the u.s.? I am thinking about moving to Jamaica or at least take frequent visits to stay with my ex-boyfriend. He is only 23 and has nobody in Jamica. I am 21.

this is something a friend of mine is facing right now. they've been married a few years, are expecting a child next month, he is a resident alien with a working visa and is the sole breadwinner for their family (she has a little girl from a previous relationship too). he is seeking citizenship, but has been denied because he overstayed a visa many years ago - he was up front about this when asked by the govt worker just as he was when asked about it by the last ones when renewing his work visa. because it's citizenship he's seeking and not just another work visa, he has been told he has to leave when his work visa expires in april. he can reapply in 10 yrs. to come back to the country.

she has said that she will move to be with him, no matter what. they are a fair bit older than you and have been together for several years, though. i;m not sure that she'd be willing to move with him if they were not currently involved and as young as you. i'd go more for the frequent visits to jamaica rather than move outright. at the very least you'll have a great vacation destination.

Well I would not advice you to follow him blind sighted. But as you mentioned taking frequent trips, do that, that will give you a better idea if it is a place you want to settle. It maybe be a nice vacation place, but not somewhere to live.

Are you serious? Who would you know in Jamaica? you'd be stuck there if your visa dissapeared. I wouldn't go for many reasons. I always tell my kids this and I hope you think about it: bad people act nice to trick you.

I can not say I would do that, but I am not in that situation so can not say for sure. It is a hard situation but what would it be like to live there and not have anyone yourself. The one thing is your young and you need to think about you and what you want for you life.
