If there is a 'Jewish lobby', it is no more powerful than Muslim apologists or fanatical imams in New York.

This was a publicity stunt by Ahmadinejad that didn't go as he had planned. I fully expected if he was able to visit ground zero he would have honored the nineteen terrorists or waited until he got back to Iran and smuggly proclaimed that the kafirs let him honor the 'nineteen glorious martyrs' of Islam.

I have always heard how educated this man is but after his meandering and extraneous speech at Columbia, I will agree with the president of Columbia university that he exhibits a fanatical mindset.

Make no mistake, Mahmoud loves to stir the pot and push buttons; this time it backfired on him. America afforded him free speech to spew his hatred for the west, would the Bush be given the same liberties to speak in Iran about whatever he wanted? Not likely as Iran murders journalists and anyone who speaks against the 'Glorious Islamic Republic of Iran'.

God bless.

initially, the government did no longer deny his request. those in cost of his protection whilst he's here (NYPD and US secret service) did. the motives given have been that the positioning is closed simply by shape and it can be a protection subject. maybe that's valid. for my area, do i think of he ought to bypass?- no. yet legally, if protection became granted, i do no longer think the government could desire to step in and say no. A vacationing Head of State has rights too. regardless of if he, or for that count the different US citizen, needed to place a wreath on the positioning in honor of the terrorists, as a prior answer shows- it incredibly is his or that electorate precise. regrettably, subsequently, unfastened Speech is absolute!! it must additionally be stated that the government has made no real assertion touching directly to this (a minimum of no longer that I even have seen). the only people making real statements are those working for the presidency. they're "outrage" smacks of politics and not the rest to me.

I don't think its the Jewish Lobby, I think its the Christians too. How do we know his true intentions in his heart for why he wants to lay a wreath? Let me tell you what this is. He will say he wanted to speak with the American people, but we did not want to listen, he will say that he was trying to make a goodwill gesture by laying a wreath down at ground zero, but we did not let him. Then he will say that the United States are tyrants trying to take over his land, and that we are barbaric with no regards for humans. That is what he will say, he will say that he tried to get along with the Americans but we did not want to try to get along with him. And we will be at war with another country. I say let him speak let him lay the wreath, this is us opening the doors of diplomacy with this country. Peace

I saw a documentry where a muslim stockbroker and a jewish stockbroker helped each other get clear of the towers. I think we need to remember that lots of innocent NY muslims were also affected by 9/11. Peace

Ahmadinejad is free to express his opinion anywhere why the need to go to ground zero. Or Columbia University for that matter, Ahmadinejad has expressed his hate for the Israelis and the USA often, do we need to hear it again? When Ahmanidejad has words of harmony and peace for the World Community, the media will cover him anywhere. We pray for our enemies. God answers prayer

Get real... honor the dead (or at least let them lie in peace)

His request is an attempt at honoring his fallen comrades that gave their lives destroying the lives of innocent people for his cause. These are not heroes of conflict, they are terrorists who prayed on the innocent... allowing this act at the very location of a monument to the lives lost is at best BAD FORM...

This would be like allowing him to lay a Nazi flag at the doorstep of the holocaust museum (which he also refutes ever happened). If he wants to show that he thinks they are national heroes he can build a shrine for them in Iran - not here.

This guy shouldn't even be allowed to breath a breath of air in New York!
It's not Freedom Of Speech.
He supports terrorism, he hates America and American people and for those of who lost someone dear to us that day, it is a downright slap in the face!

He has not been FORBIDDEN to go, but it has been made very clear that he is not WELCOME to go. That's the city's exercising their right of freedom of speech.
