Some time ago I thought it would be Barack Obama, but I'm not so sure about that now. I think her best running mate would be Gen. Wesley Clark (I'd prefer Colin Powell but that's really dreaming). Even though she has immersed herself in all things military for the last 7 years and gets high marks from military brass because of it, some folks still have the impression that her military knowledge is not up to snuff. Gen. Clark would help alleviate some of their fears simply by standing by her side. On top of that he fills that missing "white male" link so many seem to crave. It's sad to me that is a factor, but it's hard to say it's not.

Any ticket with Hillary Clinton, as President or Vice President, will fail. This is because of how strongly the America public feels about her. While some people adore her and faun over her - the rest hate her and vilify her every chance they get.
With Hillary Clinton on the ticket, this would cause only one thing: Record voter turn-out, and more than likely most of them would vote just to vote against her.
There is no way for her to assure victory by carefully picking her Vice Presidential nominee. Very likely, the only way for her to assure victory would be to fix the votes - the exact thing the Democrats accuse Bush of doing in 1999 and 2003.
[EDIT] I don't care how many thumbs down I get for this post, since I always get a lot when I'm a realist on these boards. Even high ranking members of the DNC fear Hillary getting the nomination because they know this will cause a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise vote going out to vote just to vote against her.
Also, a recent poll has shown that only about 50% of registered Democrats would vote for Hillary.

No one can assure such a victory. You also need to consider the following facts: (1) A recent USA Today poll indicated that over half of registered Democrat voters would NOT vote for Hillary if she got the nod for President, (2) No Republican on the planet will vote for Hillary, and (3) She'd have a very tough time with the independents and the undecided vote because of her extreme left-wing ideals. So anyone who thinks Hillary is a shoo-in for '08 is living in a dream world, regardless of who she had sitting in the second chair.

I think someone from a "red state" would be more helpful to her campaign (although Edwards didn't really help Kerry out in the South)....
I think Evan Bayhe (senator from Indiana) would be helpful because he could guarantee her support in the midwest. I think she needs someone who's viewed as a moderate because most think that she is too far left (i don't personally but most people that you talk to feel that she's going to make this a communist country)
Other names -
New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson
West Virginia Senator jay Rockefeller
Virginia Governor Jack Warner
Fmr North carolina Senator John Edwards (possibly)

Obama as VP candidate would assure turnout of African Americans, Latinos and everyone else, including women, who feel they are not represented by the status quo in Congress and the White House. As a woman I will know that my government is truly representative of the American people when Congress is 51% women and of a variety of colors.

If she gets the nomination (and it will certainly be she or Obama) then Obama should run as VP. I'm not sure he'd accept, but it would give him time to ripen in office and given 8 yrs. of Hillary followed by 8 yrs. of Obama, the mess left by the present useless crew should be nearly cleaned up!
