I'm looking for the artist/name of the song that I hear on classic rock stations both in AZ and in AR. It's an older song-probably from the 70's-that is completely instrumental. The most prevalent thing in it is the rock organ in the background. It's not "Fire on Ice" by ELO. Any ideas??

Do I earn props for linking a video and being the first to name the artist AND the title (without sarcastically calling you a "genius" by the way)? "Frankenstein" (1973) by the Edgar Winter Group. It features Winter on keyboards, Rick Derringer and Ronnie Montrose on guitars, Dan Hartman's bass guitar and Chuck Ruff's amazing percussion.

Hope that helps!

Uh, the E.L.O. song you refer to is "Fire on High," not "Fire on Ice," genius...

As for the song you're looking for, there's no way we could even guess without a sound bite of the song or something. I can name several bands off the top of my head that did instrumentals in the '70's, and many of them had the old rock organ in the background. Boston and Deep Purple are the first two that jump to mind.

P.S.: I think the Edgar Winter Group song hughsjarsed is referring to is "Frankenstein."
