Just trying to make sure when i get them from netflix that it's not a part 1 and 2.

Death Proof and Planet Terror are two completely different movies. It is just that when they were released in the U.S. in theaters it was bunched together in the form of the movie Grindhouse. The only difference between them put together in Grindhouse and them being released separately will be the fact that Death Proof will be long than when it was released and they may add back some scenes into both films that were taken's out. The scenes were taken out originally during theattrical release to give it that 1970s double feature deal where the projector always fried part of the film.
Further them mey are may not include the fake trailers that other directors had made.

I'm not privy to what goes on in the delightfully twisted minds of Rodriguez and Tarentino, but I'm starting to think that "Grindhouse" was the extended theatrical trailers for the direct to video films "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror."
Cool marketing concept if that's what's going on.

Yep, two totally different flicks, both originally part of "Grindhouse" but now split up for DVD.
My advice: watch 'em back-to-back.

its too directors/friends, tarantino(pulp fiction,kill bill) and rodriguez(sin city,desperado) making too different movies together and releasing them at the same time, and calling it grindhouse. tarantino is the one who discovered rodriguez and his film making potential and u see him in almost every rodriguez movie playing a small part. they just wanted to do something fun together so both theyr movies where filmed like the 60s and 70s filming style and technology. both movies are fun, i prefer planet terror

Death Proof was awesome. I haven't seen planet terror yet.
