You're protected enough only as much as the trial periods expire. AVG does have a free version of antivirus. I have no idea about Comodo firewall. However Zonealarm I believe has a free firewall. And Windows Defender is alright.

Comodo is free as far as I know. I use it and am very happy with it. Instead of AVG trial, you can use Avast. It's also very good. I hope this helps.

Lavasoft Adaware would be a good addition and should suffice (at least I feel protected with that plus what you mentioned. I'm paranoid also enough to have a few others...but from what I've heard over most of the web, that's just me.) P.S. Adaware is free.
