Of course you should tell him. You certainly cannot have sex while you have the yeast infection. If you do you will give him the yeast infection. The Monistat will clear it up quickly, but be sure to complete the entire treatment. Also, you can apply some monistate to the vulva area to stop the itching.
If you'd prefer not having the mess of vaginal insertion, you can call your GYN and have him prescribe an oral pill. And, still apply the cream for exterior itching.
I disagree with inserting yogurt into the vagina, rather, eat a good serving (with live cultures), twice a day.
Your guy should be understanding. Just tell him you have a woman thing going on. Tell him its a yeast infection, and it just happens. He probably will ask what causes it... tell him anything from scented tampons to taking strong antibiotics. We all have yeast in our bodies, and women have the perfect breeding grounds for it. Honestly, most guys know about all of this already, they just don't like to talk about it. If it helps some, give him some reading material on it.
Here is a great link that will explain it to him:

Good Luck sweetie... its all part of being a woman!

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:
https://bitly.im/aMIHB
Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

if he cares about u he won't be all that grossed out and try to understand so please tell him. but having sex is more dry uncomfortable when u have a yeast infection and he will wonder what is going on because sex doesn't feel like usual. u can treat it yourself with Canesten or other products used to treat yeast infections. u can get the one day therapy and it should be gone the next day. try not to drink alcohol (it will dehydrate u) and have lots of water. not to sure what takes it away faster. if it gets worse or is still lingering go see a gynecologist or a doctor (they have seen it all before so don't be embarrassed) they can prescribe something stronger. also double check to see if u had an alergic reaction to laytex products.

Sounds very much like a yeast infection. Yeast can grow in warm, moist areas such as skin creases. Go to the drug store and get an over the counter cream such as Nystatin. Clean and dry the affected areas well, then apply as directed. If it isn't better in a couple of days, then you'll need to see a doctor. Be sure to wash your hands well. You don't want to get thrush in your mouth.

Don't feel alone. It happens to the best of us. If you think you have gotten a yeast infection go back to the doc and have him check. If you do have one you should tell your guy. He could get it too. You have to let the medicine take it's course. Get the 1 day dose. Still you should wait til it's gone or you tell your bf. Then it's his choice. But you don't want to pass it back and forth. Drinking water is good anyway but won't make it go away faster.

Sounds like Thrush. You can get a pill from the doctor and avoid pasta/bread/wine etc while it clears up. You can also apply live yogurt on a tampon if the itching's driving you mad. Everyone gets this at some time - it's no big deal. Tell your man - he's probably had it too. If he's grossed out then get a better man!!

You should probably call your gyno and report your symptoms. Normally, discharge with yeast infections has a distinct smell, sort of like bread dough.
Sometimes I itch after my annual - could be a reaction to the KY jelly they use, or the rubber gloves. Talk to your doctor, and be sure of what it is before you mention anything to anyone about it.

Of course tell him. This is an ongoing issue for women and you are not alone. If he gets grossed out by this, then he doesn't understand women.

Yes tell him.. If not then he could get it and give it back to you and you will have it continuously... And he shouldn't be grossed out.. I'm sure he's dated girls that has had them before.. If he gets upset then find a new boyfriend!

I would agree, tell him, if you dont and you give him the infection he will be more pissed than not having sex for a week or two... and anyway he has his hand and a massive load of porn on his computer.
