I am not sure populism or collectivism should live in this definition.
For the rest add them up:
nationalism - yes
authoritarianism ( social control characterized by strict obedience to the authority of a state or organization, often maintaining and enforcing control through the use of oppressive measures) - no
statism (significant state intervention in personal, social or economic matters) - no
militarism (the doctrinal view that society should be governed by the concepts embodied in military culture and its heritage) - no
totalitarianism (in which the state regulates nearly every aspect of public and private behavior) - no
anti-communism - yes
collectivism (as the antipole of individualism) - no
corporatism (where power is given to unelected bodies with an internal hierarchy) - maybe
opposition to economic and political liberalism - maybe.
5 nos, 2 yes, 2 maybe
Be careful !

1 there have been recent calls for Nationalized Banks and Business 2 Recent calls for suppression of the 1st and 2nd amendment are indicative of Fascist policys 3 Certain people want to blame all the ills on one particular person... 4 strong military is needed and not an exclusive feature of fascism 5 no- most islamic states are anti women....the US just passed another protective piece of legislation- the Lily Ledbetter act 6 I have NEVER seen the media so one sided in my life so, maybe you are right on that one 7 We were attacked on 9/11/01 we need to be very concerned about National Security 8 What example of religion being intertwined are you talking about? Islamic states have this feature. 9 What corporate power has been protected? That is NOT a feature of fascism though as the people in power take over the corporations 10 Labor power is out of control right now with automakers and school systems virtually strangled by labor. 11 The questionable scare tactics to promote global warming hysteria is a real problem with some scientists credibility. What disdain for the arts are you talking about? 12 Crime cannot be ignored and punishment is a necessity. Do we just let killers and rapists go free if they say sorry? At least we are not Stoning people like Iran did recently. 13 The corruption thing has been rearing its head a lot lately. 14 Minnesota has been a joke with more voters than registered voters in the last election for senate. All the world seems to want us to fall. I do not think we should be held to other countrys ideas of how we should be as a country. They are not really unbiased in their views of the US.

By this definition, it has become much more so over the past few generations.
It was Roosevelt who brought in centralized control of the economy and a form of collectivism that was much closer to socialism/communism, but those programs have slowly morphed into ones that are decidedly fascist. Meanwhile, the so-called "liberal" political left has morphed into an illiberal, anti-individual-rights, cheering squad for unlimited increases in Federal power.
Check out Leonard Peikoff's book, "The Ominous Parallels".

To read the history of that country, the ONLY answer is "YES".
It was founded on the graves of 13 million indigenous people, exterminated since they were not human, less than human animals, savages, "I mean, can you imagine it. They don't own land, don't exterminate wild-life, and don't place the dollar above all?" They fought a war to keep slavery, burnt and hung black people. Invaded Cuba to set up Mafia business, used the atomic weapon against civilian targets, stole land to set up the puppet state of Panama. It refuses to set up national health services. Allows the under-menschen to live in ghettos and squalour. Has as its heroes, killers and murderers like Bonny and Clyde, Jesse James, Al Capone. All Good Americans because they placed the dollar were it should be, above everything. Bush may be an Evangelical, I doubt it, but he is NOT CHRISTIAN. Indeed I doubt if any real Christians can be found in America. Certainly the politics and social history would deny it. Look at how many of the good guy/bad guy movies end up without a trial, just bodies. Hollywood does not believe in the justice system, and they reflect the country view.

No way. The USA is a standard "liberal democracy" -- to assume that nasty stuff can't happen in a liberal democracy is naive. Both Israel and Iran are "liberal democracies" -- but both are dominated by bigoted religious psychopaths. It is only those with liberal/conservative blinders on who equate all repression with fascism. "Liberal" and "conservative" cops bang heads, too. "Liberals" can murder religious minorities (anyone remember Waco?) and "conservatives" can destroy historic liberties (Bush's Patriot Act). Three things I can think of right off the bat are left out of your quoted definition (and I'm sure there are more) -- 1) a mass extra-state movement that is then incorporated into the state (the stormtroopers, etc.) 2) unremitting hostility to unions and labor rights, and 3) elimination of even the pretense to democracy (dissidents and elections). Bush's electoral thefts KEPT UP the pretense to democracy -- unions are not eliminated here, just restricted and compromised - and the Dittoheads and similar mentally-incompetent right-wingers have NOT been brought into the government. Not to mention that dissidents are not seen by the board of directors of USA, Inc. as a big enough threat to even eliminate -- if fascism allows no dissidents, and YOU are dissenting, to call the USA fascist is saying that it doesn't matter whether you yourself exist or not!
Big business PREFERS liberal democracy -- they know that if they bring the street scum into the government, as fascism does, that even some of the super-rich who own the country can get hurt. They only allow a fascist government when things are totally desperate, and a mass left movement is on the verge of taking over. The US is nowhere NEAR that situation -- despite the fantasies of rightist paranoids there IS no left in America -- just defenders of the Empire who think that a "liberal" approach is more effective in preserving the status quo than the "conservative" approach. Liberals and conservatives are both for the empire – they just have different strategies on how to go about it. And don’t assume that the ‘liberal’ version is less bloody – even counting his immoral assault on Iraq, it wasn’t until 2005 that Bush finally killed more people overseas than Clinton did. Remember, LBJ was a liberal, and by today’s standards, so was Nixon.

although USA is characterized by many as imperialist and colonialist, nobody in his senses would dub her as a fascist state. USA is a democractic state vulnerable not only to public opinion at home but also abroad. despite political differences, the fact remains that USA is a democractic state and is not based on so called master race concept of the Nazis or uptra nationalistic chauvanism of the fascists.

Well, there are plenty of fascist cops out there, and who do they work for? The government. Who is the government? Both the Democratic Congress, and the Republican Executive Branch, i.e. BUSH. Everything in this country stems from these entities, both conservative religious fundamentalists, and socialist liberals.

Well I'm convinced there's quite a lot of people here who'd like it to be, and there always has been.
Back before it had become painfully obvious what fascism was really all about, people like them embraced the term, and hailed Hitler as an enlightened leader.
Today of course they do not embrace the name fascism. It has unfortunate connotations.
But they think the same way people like that always did. You can read their thoughts any day of the week right here on Yahoo.

America is truely becoming a Fascist state because of the religious right-wing and the bible thumpers! It is about time that the citizens of this country take back their rights and tell the churches to take a flying leap. Until we have true separation of church and state within the boundaries of this country, we will never be free--it is their way, or no way!!
