My laptop is connected to a 21" monitor. I accidently hit a button on the laptop and it shrunk everything on my monitor. I've tried resetting it in the control pantel (it shows two screens and my monitor is screen 1) but now it is stretched longways. I have to print screen and paste pictures of SAP line items (accounting software) into Excel workbooks then type out the numbers into formulas in the worksheets. The pictures are overlapping the formula's and I have to set the zoom to 200 just so I can see the numbers on the pictures. Then I have to move the screen back and forth to make sure I'm typing the right numbers into the formula. I've gotten no help from my own or my company IT personnnel. Also, when I go to the Internet my home page is only 1/3 of it's width and it's straight down the middle. The screen in SAP is also small print and narrow. How do I reset my 21" monitor so everything looks normal?

Start - Control Panel - Display - Settings Tab. You change it here.

Check around to see if there are any factory default switches you can switch back to. If you haven't tried it, play around with different resolution settings in properties>settings after right clicking the desktop. Make sure you display setting is correct and play around with different resolutions, sometimes resolutions that are available on your video card may not be optimal for your screen. Other than that, I'd have to see a little more to figure it out. Sorry if I'm not super helpful.

a great style of folk have problems with this. i'm assuming you're using the equipped in pics, (in case you dont comprehend what which potential i'm particular you're) equipped in pics do not generally help resolutions that are widescreen, you prefer a sparkling pics card, take your pc to compUSA, they are going to make it easier to locate a pics card that does widescreen resolutions, they might even set up it and get it working in case you desire. it would cost around $60
