It could be one of a few reasons..

Being a computer tech for 13 something odd years, I learned quickly that a "slow computer" can be caused by hundreds of different things. But a slow hard drive does not help either way. If you like, go ahead and shoot me an email and I can show you some steps to get it running quicker.

Using a registry cleaner can fix your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically! It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!

It's your registry, it has probably tons of errors slowing down your computer. What you need is a registry cleaner but there's something you have to know! Most registry cleaners damage, make worse, or even crash/destroy computer! Most are fake or not made right and finding wrong errors and just making your registry worse and even possibly crashing computer! There are few good ones that don't and some I'm not sure about but I know one that speeded up my computer and helped prevent errors and did it so good, my personal favorite that I know 100% safe and real, and that is...DRUM ROLL PLEASE...MyRegistryCleaner!!! It's by PCSecurityShield, for more info go to http://www.pcss.com/PP/dspMyregistry.aspx ...TRUST ME! It's one of the very few that will help your computer instead of killing it, and just incase, you have backup to restore and undo changes! Good luck!

that could one of the reasons, see the following also to upgrade your memory.
start - run - type regedit
1.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2.System
3.CurrentControlSet
4.Control
5.Seesion Manager
6.Memory Management
7.PrefetchParameters
8.EnablePrefetcher change from 3 - 5

Are you using a complex screensaver - it runs in the background and eats memory. I had fun with mine, then changed it to blank.
- How many programs do you load at startup? Maybe you should check it out and ensure you are running just what you need.

1.From IE, click Tools, Internet Options, delete cookies
delete files (offline files), clear history (set days to save to 0 if you want), click o.k., and Restart

2.click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools – run Disk Cleanup
3.Temporarily close Quick Launch:
Right-click on the Taskbar, click Toolbars, deselect Quick Launch

4.Open My Computer
right-click on C:
click Properties
click Tools, select Error Check (check all and fix), when finished click defrag & run.

5.click Start, Run ipconfig renew (type ipconfig space renew)

6.Restart. Right-click on Taskbar, click Toolbars, select Quick Launch to restore

Click on your start menu - "run" type "msconfig" then enter. This will bring up a box with 5 subtabs like this. General, Boot, Services, Start-Up and Tools.
1. Click on Start-Up
2. Click On Disable all
3. Click Apply
4. Click Ok
5. Windows will ask you to restart, click ok.

Hope this help you...

You need to clean up disk space. I will tell you some simple methods that can save hardware upgrade expenses.
Method 1 Clean up temporary files
Temporary files include internet temporary files, cookies, windows temporary files, run history, document history, windows logon history, internet explorer history and so on. You need to clean up them every week. If you do not clean up for long time, the cumulative temporary files will occupy a lot of space, and lead to no sufficient disk space.
Method 2 Uninstalls your needless programs.
Open the install/uninstall Program, and Uninstall the software and Plug-ins
Method 3 you need download the software for cleaning system.
The software for cleaning system can automatically help you clean temporary files and uninstall the programs that you don’t need. It improves performance of your system for just a few minutes and saves your energy and time. You can click the website http://computer-optimize.com/ to find the satisfied software

I wish my solution could help you.

good luck!!

That could be...go buy more RAM and maybe a larger hard drive (if you are running low on space). You should definitely notice a difference with more RAM.

You might also want to scan for viruses and spyware...if you don't have any programs to do this, get the following (they are all free):

Spyware Tools:

Increase memory size? How much total memory do you have installed? Right click My Computer and click "properties" and find out!
