A gate?

I was looking into the meaning of "turnpike" the other day. Don't ask why. It was once the custom to use pike, a long spear, to bar a road.

If a fee is leaved your bar could be called a tollgate, otherwise barrier or "security barrier" or "security gate" would probably be your best word choices.

good luck

It used to be called a "turn pike", which is now a synonym for a tollway. I think that still works, but I cannot think of a more modern term.
