Smelly...No Deodorant!?

Question

How many of you deal with people on a daily basis? I do and often come about people that smell so bad from their underarms or body prespiration(like they havent bathed in days?) What do you do to approach the situation? What do you say to someone like this without truly wanting to hurt their feelings? In the medical field you have to be so carefull how you approach people and i cant seem to find the right way to tell certain folks about their odors.. What would you say?

At the hospital where I work, the supervisors have to talk to the person.....you complain and they talk.......even one time it was so bad, they made the person shower before returning to work....make sure there is a ditty bag for em....shower gel, deodorant, soap...etc.....If you are the boss....just say there has been complaints and I'm sorry, but I must address the situation....

Make up some "sample" bags to give to patients. I bet you could even get some soap,toothpaste,and deoderant companies to give you the samples for free. Just give them out to the stinky people very nonchalantly as though you give them out to everyone. If you really want to play it up, tell them it's a national survey project or something and tell them you want their opinion on the products at their next visit. The next time they come in, give them some different brands to "try out".

you can start by offering friendship which leads to communication and discursion of issues including products, thereby introducing a new deodorant that is better than others, which you have started using.this could go along way to address the issue.

I just come right out and tell them their deodorant is not working today. and if they dont use it they will get the hint.
