No, none of the monarchies elect their leaders.

King Albert of Belgium, Queen Margrethe of Denmark, Prince Hans-Adam of Lichtenstein, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, King Juan Carlos of Spain, King Harald of Norway, King Karl Gustav of Sweden, Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.

All unelected. It's a disgrace!

If you're talking about Britain then the Republic of Ireland doesn't either. You elect TDs (MPs) And the leader of the party with the majority ends up your Prime Minister why you like him or not. in France people vote for their President and i think that a far better system. I think that and no matter which party does best! We should still have a right to pick which member of strongest party we want representing us.

No, Britain does not elect its leader as the leader is a constitutional monarch. The monarchy is a heredity system. There are other countries in Europe who also have constitutional monarchies.

we live in a parliamentary system - the person who is leader is the one who can muster a majority of votes in the House of Commons. Currently this is Gordon Brown because he is leader of the Labour Party and the majority of MPs are from the Labour Party.

Unless you think that the Queen is our leader?

We don't have a Presidential system we have a parliamentary system. So we vote for a party to form a government. The choice of leader is up to them.

If you are talking about the Uk. We do have a general election where you can vote. If you join any of the parties, you have a vote on who will lead its party as well.
The only person we do not vote for is the Monarch.

Which country is "we"? That looks like an American flag in the background in your icon and last time I checked, America wasn't in Europe.

If you are talking about the UK then we do elect our political leader - the Prime Minister. Although fat lot of good it ever does us (witness the carnage of Blair) . . .

I used to be an insider with this lot and found that there were those and such as those, It's the same everywhere you go. You would find that a list of candidates were coming to your branch, The list was put together by a faceless committee that was chosen from on high. It was more than obvious that it was pre-selection as everyone knew who was going to be the candidate.
