I'm 50 years old. I've been invested in the stock market before the DJI30 reached 2,000. I invested in Wal-Mart, IBM, Apple, Microsoft and Home Depot when they became IPO's.

Life's been good. I have no debts, I own my home.

I only work because I need health care to protect my health and wealth.

If Hillary guarantees health care, I'm thinking about quiting work and signing on with her plan.

And since I won't have an income, I would technically be poor, so my health care should be free.

This will give me more time to do those things I've always wanted to at home, and give me more time to see my doctor to get those little things taken care of, those things I don't want to spend my money on.

How many other close to retirement people plan to take advantage of the tax payers charity and quit work as I do?

And do you see any disadvantages to this plan?

Yeah, I am getting closer to retirement and am wondering if living off of the taxes of the younger folks might be a good idea. If in retirement I don't have to pay for my insurance, I would have more to spend on me!

Very few people are in your position my sarcastic friend.

A much larger near retirement age group have inadequate or no health care benefits, have worked all their lives & do not have a bloated stock portfolio.

I am unfamiliar with the Clinton plan. I just know the health care system is broken in this great country. The best healthcare in the world is available to the smug minority such as yourself. For the rest of us, we do without.

One of my best friends recently died of kidney cancer. He was a master electrcian & thought he had a decent insurance plan at work. But the insurance company continually denied him treatment his doctors said he needed. So my friend took the insurance company to court. This process took years. During that time he was forced to use his life savings on treatment his doctors said he needed. But due to financial constraints, his treatment was started too late & his cancer had metastasized.

He is now dead, his widow has dropped the case & the insurance company did not have to give him timely treatment that would have possibly saved his life. They had saved a few dollars for the investors in the insurance company.

I don't know what the answer is for the healthcare problem in America. I do know it is not your self righteous, smug, don't give a damn about anyone else attitude.

do now not stop your pastime yet. this may be a authorities application we are conversing approximately right here. only like the medicare application that is going broke and reducing reward, or the social protection application that is going broke. authorities has in no way finished any efficient courses. authorities wellness care is meant to line the wallet of the politicians and the folk who bribe them, supply wellness preserve the lazy and irresponsible, and provide the authorities yet another huge pot of funds to blow on foolishness. that's going to supply little or no wellness care to the known working American, only stick us with the invoice. think of slightly. could you commerce your freedoms and our way of lifestyles for some wellness care? Socialism sucks.

I'm retired and in my mid 50s. I would like to drop my present coverage and pocket the $400.00 a month that I'm paying in premiums. Sign me up.

It's not just income that goes into account. It will be means tested and will include assets. The fact that you own your own home means that you probably won't get it for free.

I’m 32 with a painfully curved spine, 2 bad knees and a bad shoulder, tendonitis in my wrists and bad eyes. What path of social programs can I get on to not have to get up and go to work every morning? Surely there is some way I can also just leech off society….

I have glasses, maybe I can count that as a disability and join you. Sounds fine to me.
