Anytime I print or copy anything, the printed area has lines running completely through and out side of it. They are yellow, red, and blue repeating thick horizontal bands. Head cleaning did not work. It is 13 months old therefore out of warranty. Please help! What is this??

That sounds like bleeding, then 'head' cleaning is contrary to what you want, head is broken, such item is much more costly then the cartridges that we had to replace from time to time, it might make financial sense to just buy another printer if whatever you track down end up to be something you have to send to shop for.

After 12 years my old Japanese-made Canon BJC got waste full (hell to send it to a shop when it suppose to go to a heap) and I bought a 2nd hand laser with toner for $50, can't help further other than good luck on hunting down similar bargain yourself.
