The wireless router is a Zhone 6218 I2 and was bundled with our wireless internet access. Is it good?

Zhone / Paradyne is actually a very well known company. I hate to disagree with the other but this is a good router! Check the specs.
Paradyne was acquired by Zhone back in 2005. Both companies are known for good products. So use it and enjoy.
Just because the name isn't known in the HOME doesn't mean it isn't known in the business community particularly in the Broadband Loop Carriers (BLCs) business.

For that price I would go for the Belkin N1 wireless router. I had this router from the date it came out, which was over a 2 years ago and it is incredible. I NEVER once lost connection and the distance it can go is just unbeatable. So to answer you question, no I would not get this Zhone 6218 I2 router.

Agreed, most wired routers use the same technology and no matter what the brand name it should work just fine.
The only place you will find differences in wired router is when you purchase specialized equipment for special needs...

Its a no-name brand. If it works then its fine.
