I own the Disney version of this game but have been thinking about getting the new one that swipes your card and has modern pieces. The Disney version has been a fav in our house but now my kids are getting old enough that I think its time to change versions. I liked it because it helped my kids figure out how to handle money (shh! don't tell them they were learning when we played) but my husband is a HUGE cheater so I want to know if the new credit game would stop him.

I truely like how they made a lot of versions. There is probably a monopoly somewhere that appeals to about everyones interest. My favorite version was this stock market one i had which was more like an expansion version. It replaced Free Parking with a stock market and added new chance and community chest cards like Stock Market Crashes. It put a neat twist on the game having stocks and properties.

A German version of the game called Monopoly: Die Bourse (Stock Market). Players can buy shares of the properties. Only the majority stock holder can improve properties. Players get discounts when paying rent in properties they own shares of. Rent is paid directly to the bank(!). A calculator tells players how much money they collect when they pass Go. A player can't sit in Jail and collect money!

I liked the Star Wars version because you could play with an optional rule which has rewards for doubles.

I think it is so fun that there are so many versions of this game. It possibly has been OVER DONE !!
Truely... I still enjoy the very first one.

I like the original one, maybe because that's the one I grew up with and I have sentimental memories of playing it with my parents at the kitchen table.
