Ive jsut got a freeview box for my bedroom (only a cheap £20 from Asdas) and its bloody annoying not being able to watch UKTV Gold and great channels that you have to pay for!
Is there any way that i can get around paying for these channels, and recive them for free?

Ive got the "Durabrand" box from Asda, with the v1.7 firmware.

Thanks,
Tom

There is now only 1 box compatiable with TUTV which is the Thomson DT16300-16, its also a recordable box. Costs around £99 and you can get a subscription for £9.99 pm. Some people still have TUTV on a freeview box with a card slot but this is no longer available to purchase. If your not getting all your freeview channels then you have a signal problem that is easily fixed. So otherwise u cannot get UKTV Gold unless u buy a new box wth TUTV or Sky etc.

You cannot 'hack' Freeview.

Since it only costs £8 per month for all the extra channels, who on earth is going to bother??

To be honest, with a cheapo box like Durabrand, you'll be lucky if you can receive all the FREE channels, anyway...

at £20 your freeveiw box wont have a cam slot (for top-up tv) for a starter and like the other guys have said whats the point of "hacking" for £8 a month they are old mostly crap programmes anyway.
