1. Calling a vote to "condemn" an ad in the NYT was stupid and a waste of taxpayer money. It's worse than "censuring" the President....in the end, what is it good for?
2. Petraeus is ONE general and is not the entire US military. Supporting the troops does not equate to agreeing with the troops mission. I have many friends in Iraq whom I support with letters and care packages. I do not support what the Government has them doing over there.
3. I'd love to see someone disprove the facts as stated in the Moveon.org ad. Their approach was a little juvenile, but you should read the rest of the ad before you run your mouth.

Most Democrats say the only people claiming Petraeus is a traitor are the far-left (liberal) extremists. The majority of Democrats dislike the war effort, support the troops and oppose the war.
They also realize the threat of terrorists.
So, those who comment on Hillary not denouncing the ad are extreme liberals. Which clearly puts Hillary at the top of the list of liberal extremists.

Hillary did not agree with moveon.org, nor did she call General Patraeus a traitor. The Senate does not have a voting priviledge on what people say or newspapers print. The Seante is a legislative body, not a censorship group.

How many times does it have to be said: YOU CAN BE CRITICAL OF OUR LEADERSHIP AND STILL SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
I have a great dislike for anyone who refuses to admit that this war IS and WAS a mistake. Our troops didn't make that mistake, our leadership did. How much more supportive can I be? I want to see our troops home and save with their families. Or, as the need may be, deployed elsewhere in the world. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 had nothing to do with terrorism and yet we went there anyway. And now look at the state of affairs we find ourselves in. Too many Americans have died in this struggle. Too many people who's families deserve more than the lies they are still trying to propagate.
I'm sick and tired of people trying to point fingers at fellow Americans for speaking out against those who lead us astray. When I say 'I hate that we are in Iraq' that does not mean I don't support our troops. When will people get that through their heads?

Cite your source for alleging that Hillary called Petraeus a traitor.
Petraeus and the troops fighting are different entities, so that you can support the troops and bring them home, out of harm’s way, while criticizing Petraeus as a spokesman for the Bush administration. I am truly surprised that such an easy distinction is not universally understood.

that's actual ethical outrage. even nonetheless that's no longer appropriate to the disrespect. that's appropriate to the trademark violation. How dare Democrats swiftboat between the few generals prepared to spout the administration line? To Petraeus' credit, i think of he easily believes he can get something accomplished, inspite of understanding that he's working for people who've basically the vaguest recommendations approximately what a protection stress does and could desire to care much less appropriate to the realities of the pastime.

I'm proud of Hillary. That whole fiasco is not what I'm paying taxes for, to censor free speech in America.
That was crap to waste time on a stupid ad, when we have serious issues that need to be addressed.
Hillary is a true American patriot. George Bush should be impeached and all his little yapping cronies right behind him.

Well, to be perfectly honest this comes as a surprise to no one. Petraeus is an honored man who is of the highest integrity, you don't become a General Officer by being a traitor.
I'm taking what the far left say with a grain of salt.

The troops are the boys in uniform risking getting blown up any second.
General Petraeus is the general who survived the purge of the HQ by the Bush administration by being a yes-man.
That's why you can support one and not the other.
