US citizens, may I know whether your country (United States) allow schools or principals to conduct caning when the students comitted some major/serious offences? Are parents allowed to use simple cane to hit their children when they are not well behave?

In the US teachers are not allowed to strike the children ever. It is against the law for them to discipline that way. Parents are not allowed to use a cane either -also against the law.

No teacher in the USA would even think of it, much less try to do it. It would be a one way trip to jail, and a severe lawsuit for cruelty to a child. While caning might not be such a bad idea, and I do agree with corporal punishment, the parents should be the ones to do it, not a teacher.

They don't do that here any more. It is supposed to traumatize the little morons. If parents and teachers were still allowed to smack the kids, there wouldn't be as much trouble in this country as much as it is now. They call it child abuse if you smack your kids in public and they catch it on video. When I was a kid, no matter where we were if I didn't do what my Mom or Dad said immediately I got slapped and/or whacked on the butt right there. I learned to obey really early in life. Today, no kids get whacked and they get away with murder, literally.

As the contributors have mentioned. It is illegal for any public school teachers or administrators to subject any student to corporal punishment of ANY type.

Those who do are subject to severe legal repercussions. Not to mention the loss of employment.

Also no parents are permitted to administer any type of severe punishment to their children.
