or marry in to it?

I am married to a Count and other than alot of great events there aren't many perks or downsides. Much of the European Royalty still have the titles but not much money - my husband worked like mad to be able to restore his estate and has done very well for himself.

While we are stateside, we never mention the title and it's really just a running joke with my friends. Can't blame them, but it does work to get great last minute reservations at restaurants.

Sure why not. With all the pomp and the money they have. However, I am already part Royalty. My German grandfathers lineage goes back to the old Prussian Aristrocracy. 1789. Even so we are not rich it's a proud history to have.

I am from royalty, my family has a coat of arms and even in Wikipedia it says my last name is of royal descent.
I think life would be hard though if you actually had to rule over people and always be in the spot light. Paparazzi wouldn't be to fun either.

Definitely not. I think that people spend a lot of time talking about the glamour of it all, but it's really a demanding life. I don't think that I would like constantly being scrutinized and not having the freedom to truly have an opinion on a subject without facing ridicule and causing controversy.

Absolutely not! I would hate having papperazi following me everywhere. Gossip about me all the time. I'd hate to have to attend all sorts of events and be socially correct at every moment. I'd hate to have to give speeches all the time, etc, etc.

I like coming and going as I choose. No one staring.

no to the point of no privacy and being under scrutiny all the time.

I would like the upsides but none of the hard work or invasion of privacy that goes with it.

The prescribed expectations on your life would probably outweigh the perks, so no.

No thanks. They are a bunch of lazy rich, spoiled people who really don't have a function, they don't run the government, they just spend the governments money.
