Because we can use vacuum pumps to suck air out of a room. If you go into that room, you will diel This happened ocne. The guy was lucky so survive- people say him at once.
Also, if there was no air, astronauts on the moon wouldn't need spacesuits, would they?
Also, if you thros an object, it wil slow down and fall. This is because air is slowing it. If you throw an object in space, it will never stop. This means that there msut be something on Earth stopping it. This thing is called air.
FInally, you cna't hear in spac-e no air to carry the sound.

We cannot see air. we cannot see the Aether ,but they are there.
Without the air there is a vaccum.
Without a vaccum we cannot determine the absence or air.
Without the Aether there is no inertia.
Without inertia we cannot determine the abscence of Gravity.
In relativity theory , a phenomenon can exist without the observer. But without an observer there is no way of knowing that the Phenomenon exists.

Well...in the old days of science...slightly sadistic scientists played around with small animals in a vacuum...and lo and behold..they couldn't survive without the atmosphere surrounding all of us...therefore it IS there. If you still don't believe it...you could always try and sit in a vacuum chamber and let someone remove the air of course;)

there are a lot of things that you cant see but its there, e.g. UV color. its a color unlike any other, it glows like a light but our eyes just cant see it. as for air, what is that thing that blows against you on a Windy day? you can call it what ever you want but most of English speaking humans call it air, and there are a lot of other words for it. the air is made of many gases including oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, water vapor and Argon.

An interesting experiment you can try is to weigh an empty balloon, then blow it up a bit and weigh it again.
Another one is to place a drinking glass over a burning candle so that it is sealed up and see what happens to the flame.

Yes, it keeps us alive, which rather leads us to the conclusion it exists. Try breathing in a vacuum if you don't believe me. Yes, do it now!

You can't see air, but you can see what air does (blowing stuff around as it moves), and you can see what happens if there is no air present (suffocation).
So you *indirectly* know that air is there.
