It would have to be the biggest load of rubbish ever on TV since TV came about in the fifties.
Have you ever imagined such ridiculous drama unfold in a town with about 5,000 people in it like Summer bay?? kidnappings, people falling down mine-shafts, weddings that go wrong, people that get killed, helicopters that crash in the bush, ex-cons coming into town and corrupting kids, estranged mothers ripping off sons inheritance, bla bla bla....
And Im an Australian subjected to it.......Why cant they just put on Fawlty Towers instead???

The reason I know lots about it, is because my wife insists on watching it, so Im stuck with it, as its the only TV in the house.....And Im not washin those flamin dishes everynight, bugger that.

Yes I do watch it and no I don't think that it is crap. Yes some things are very realistic in it but it's a soap. It's not supposed to be all realistic in every aspect. Besides the soap that is total unrealistic crap is Coronation Street. By the way for someone who hates Home And Away and thinks that it is rubbish then you seem to know a whole lot about it.

Home and Away is great. I've been watching it for years. We need a soap with kids in it! Better than Coronation Stupid Street full of Old Fogies. If you want unrealism, try Emmerdale, with the Dingles' pig farm with no pig-**** about the place. The very worst is The Dead Enders where you can't understand what anyone is saying: Know wodd a meen, mee owled china. Home and Away is true to life. A long time ago we had a teacher at school who looked just like Flathead, and he talked like Flathead, and acted like Flathead. I forget what we used to call him. Oh yes. It was Flathead.

I am also Aussie, and yes, I watch Home and Away, but not religiously. I watch it if I have nothing better to do, so maybe once a week. I agree with you, it is very unrealistic! Summer Bay is one place that I would never want to live in! The chances of some tragedy happening to you are way too high.

hey for many people in england home and away and neighbours are pure escapism from how we are described in english soap operas as boring poms with hum drum lives why do you think so many brits emigrate to aus its your shows over there that put the ideas in some brits heads in the first place do you seriously think that brits would move there without the inside knowledge of tv or rellies living in aus already home and away is the sunshine brits crave and neighbours the familys we wish we were like .
