You can use $1.00 per square foot for the base, sill stock, and casing. You can use $1.00 per linear foot on the crown molding. That cost would be for a home with all the old molding removed. That does not include paint or wood finish stain. It doesn't take a "genius" to do crown,it's just simple math.

You can't go by "X amount" you have to treat it as so much an hour. I get or got, I retired, $48.00 an hour from the time my tool box hit the floor the deal was sealed. I used one person for a helper, she knew as much as I did, almost, my daughter.

You can used the plastic molding, cheap, inexpensive but, fair, already painted, goes in quick.
You can get pine, unpainted, then we'd have to stain it, another expense.

If you go to a hardwood, your going to pay, the wood is expensive, it still has to be stained.

Crown molding isn't easy, it's a lot of hard work, you have to know what your doing. It takes talent bordering on the genius level, that's why I get paid good money.

I can't give you a per foot estimate it isn't that easy from here.

there are too many variables to consider for anyone on here to give you a cost estimate- style of moulding and trim, material the trim is made of, linear footage, extras like corner blocks, finishes, the store you buy them from, the region you live in, the country you live in..all these things have to be taken in to consideration
