I have heard of all kinds of simulacra on the moon, but I really struggle to see any! On the other hand, I see Mara, mountains, craters, rills and rays, vistas of great and unearthly beauty!

There is a myth that there is a goddess and a rabbit on the moon. Rabbits symbolise the goddess and fertility. The moon symbolises the divine eternal mother. In languages where nouns have gender, the moon is female. The moon is also reflective like water, and it reflects the light of the sun which is masculine, that may be why men see a man on the moon and women see a symbol of female fertility.

I think that's probably a joke... Men seeing a man on the moon and women seeing a rabbit... I bet a feminist said that to make fun of men and call them meak.
