Almost 3 years ago I lied in court and won. I told a lot of lies about my ex wife. I won residential custody of our 2 children. They are getting older now and I know my ex wife will tell them the truth. I wish I didn't lie in the first place. If I go back to court and tell them I lied what will happen? Will I have to go to jail?

Perjury is a criminal offense. Talk to a criminal defense attorney before you say anything to anyone.

Further, if you said anything harmful about your ex-wife it might be slander. You might be opening yourself up to a civil suit.

Confess your sins to a priest or minister. They have to keep in confidence what you tell them. They may also be able to help you clear your conscience.

Perjury is a crime.

If you really want to get it behind you, set the record straight and accept ALL the consequences.

Good luck.
