Kidnapping is not new. The method that we hear about kidnapping is. We now have the technology to find out about a kidnapping on the other side of the world before it is resolved. The need to notify the world is because of the technology to transport these children to other countries. Before a kidnapping in China was a child in China, now within a few hours that child can be in a South America with false identification and different hair and eyes, so there is a need to notify the world.

Kidnapping has always been going on, so it isn't just "nowadays." We just hear about nearly every kidnapping now because of advances in telecommunications and media technology.

Hi its always been happening but with the radio & TV it seems like its happening more than before.
If its happening more than before--then its probably due to the pulicity that the kidnapper will receive
