I am 6 weeks pregnant and have "O" group blood. some friend of mine has suggested that I need a injection in this case but doctors doesn't say anything on this topic! Can anyone helpout?

basically its an anti d injection( immunoglobin ) ,its required by certain women and it depends on your blood group and your partners .... its is incase there is a risk of the babys blood leaking in to your blood stream so have a word with gp or hospital consultant about it...good luck

If you have a negative blood group (and your partner has a positive)you will need to have anti-D injections at intervals during your pregnancy-talk to your obstertrician when you have your initial consult

o is the most common blood group,i think she is mistaking the rhesus pos and rhesus neg,anyway dont worry
