I'm just reading the book and it's not what I expected. It's good but it's much more serious and deep than I thought it would be. Is the play as serious? I really want to see it but I'm wondering if it follows the book closely. I want to know what to expect.

The musical is still serious, but it has lighter comedic moments. You will enjoy it very much.
