Processor interprets computer program instructions and processes data. The chipset is usually composed of the Northbridge (G33 in the chart) and Southbridge (ICH9). The Northbridge links the processor with very high speed devices like RAM and graphics controller. The Southbridge links the processor with lower speed peripherals like SATA ports, USB, PCI, etc.

chip set work as the middle man between processor and other units.(memory,hard drive etc.)while processor do all the hard work...(its the brain)
