It is so easy to blame the parents, but when the government creates economic situations where a parent needs to spend most of the day(earning a min.wage,) away from home, thus the lack of disciplined children.
Not every one is meant to be married w/ children.
Some blame can be placed on the education sys, as well. It's broken& needs to be fixed.

Yep it happens. I figure they get it from the parents, some actually make their kids sell it for them at school. The first time I saw drugs at school it was in the 7th grade when a guy in my English class pulled out a little bag of weed from his sock!! I was totally shocked but to some kids its completely normal, which is so sad. Don't worry too much about your kids though, if you teach them to stay away from drugs, they will. I know I did, my mom always told me what drugs can do to you and til this day I've never even smoked a cigarette.

Usually a person selling drugs at such a small age must almost certainly have known somebody that sells drugs that is close to him like a father or a brother. This might be the reason for this fourth grader selling drugs.

Ahhhh, Parents, (NOT doing their job) Brothers, Sisters, Friends, Cousins, there are all so many ways that a kid can be mis-lead that it isn't even close to funny. BUT I would think it starts with parents. As in parents NOT knowing what their kid is up to.IF and this is IF parents were more involved with what their kid/s did there would or at the very least COULD be less problems.

This is insane, but I guess not uncommon any more.

My guess is this fourth grader got roped into it by an older sibling who was doing it, collecting money for him, or something like that. Wanted extra money for an iPhone, maybe? Or perhaps it's something sadder and less obvious, like out-of-work parents who can't afford to put food on the table.

Ya-it's sad, when I was getting a tattoo, the tattooist-druggies son who was about the same age, doing coke & had tattoos on him-I'm guessing some parents get their kids to do drugs, sell them, etc. & they belong in prison, there's true parents out there who should raise these kids, not druggies

You won't convince her and if you try you will be more of a problem as you will force her to hold on to him even more. Stay away from her when she is with him and if that means you drift apart for a few years then that is the way it has to be.

Wow if I were you I would be looking into who my sons "Buddy's" were! Plan more activities where you join in so you can get to know these kids better and maybe their parents. Yes it is a crazy world we live in now !
