I've had a new laptop for a month. I've successfully uninstalled the free Norton trial and installed AVG free, but I can't get zonealarm or ad-aware to download.
zonealarm says "server not responding" and can't find the msi patch. (whatever that is)
ad-aware looks like it is downloading, but the % of download never gets higher than about 35%.
I also can't download any game trials.
My computer is running on Windows XP for now until I can get all this stuff organised and then I'll install firefox.
Please help!

You may only think that you have "successfully uninstalled the free Norton & AVG". Nortons especially will leave over 375 fragments glued to all your files, folders, registry and hidden all over your system. Go to start, "search", and typein Norton and see what files that you still come up after your systems scans your pc. I am quite sure you are going to find Nortons still in your system and this is going to cause you a great amount of conflict. Go to "start" "run", type in Norton and click on browse, then open program files and look for Nortons or their other name that starts with "S". Also type in the complete name that start with "S", in your search. (I don't use Nortons as they are a hugh resource hog and fails to find anything. AVG, is excellent but is difficult to remove. Will also leave fragments.

I have used Zone Alarm for over ten years. About two days ago they updated a new version for download. I gave up trying to install the firewall. Switched to http://www.comodo.com free firewall Pro. Free for life.

Gave up with ad-aware, will not download. When you see server not "responding", this means that zone alarm, or ad-aware servers are down and not working. You have to try later.

There is a free safe program that you can download and follow the instructions. This program will remove all of any program that leaves fragments behind. (I use this program myself) http://www.download3k.com/Install-Delete-Doctor.html

Its probable maximum secure to easily do away with it .. in case you have already got... test your pc ... you have got a computer virus or trojan or something ... if thats the case do away with it .. or fix it back to an in the previous date the place you didnt have any of those issues. > start up >extra courses >upload-ons > equipment procedures > equipment fix
