first of all, i am not suicidal; i'd just like to hear your opinion on why you think it happens, can you relate to people who've done it, etc. (not interested in hearing from those who can't relate to my question and if anyone is suicidal always remember that you are responsible for your own actions. thanx)

I think there are various reasons people commit suicide. Some are mentally ill and may have had tortured lives and just can't take anymore. Some have personality disorders and may think that by killing themselves they are "getting even" with people, usually family. Sometimes younger people will use it as a permanent solution to a temporary problem,

Teenaged angst is real and there haven't been enough life experienced to know that troubled times are temporary and that what is seen as a mountain at that age may be one of lifes sorrows that we all experience and that with more years of living, it diminishes in importance.

Sometimes it is also accidental. People use a suicide attempt as a cry for help when their voice doesn't know the words to say. Unfortunately, sometimes the attempt is too good and death occurs anyway.

Hopefully, anyone who is at the place where suicide looks attractive will confide in a teacher, friend, help line etc and discuss the problems with them. A problem shared is a problem halved.

Believe or not, sucide, or the contemplation of it, comes from positive intentions. What does that mean? No one just plans, attempts, or actually kill themselves just because. The suicidal person seeks out suicide as a remedy to a problem. In my opinion, a suicidal person is more easily helped than a sociopath.

Suicidal people have a sense of worthlessness, loss of will to live, low self-esteem, etc. Death seems to be - not the easier way out - but the only way out. A person's life has become a hell.

Sociopaths are so careless that they don't even care about not caring. (??????) Lol! For a person to even think about offing themselves is a sign that they desire change for their situation.

Do I condemn it? I frown upon it. Life is so rich. I didn't know that until I became suicidal and earnestly sought out help. I believe that religion is a major cause of suicide. Being indoctrinated can be very depressing. I wouldn't off myself but I understand.

There are a lot of reasons behind suicide. Personally, I can relate to most of them. The most powerful of course is when the person is placed in a position where he or she feels that there is absolutely no reason to keep on living.

I know it's easy for people to say that that reason is silly or can be easily remedy by accepting the fact that life can change for good in a moment, but once you are placed in that dark mindset, it's just hard to get back from it. All of a sudden, death becomes more than just an escape, it becomes an avenue for change - as if the one who is going to commit suicide feels that it is the right thing to do because there might be something better waiting for you on the other side... that this thing right here... this life... is not worth all the pain.

i dont condemn it, its sad that the person, at that place and time, can not see or feel any hope. Often, when we have tried to remedy a situation, and failed, we get to a point to just give up and walk away, we as humans do this with marriages, with our jobs, etc i think of suicide in similar terms (yes, more serious, but it doesnt mean we dont care). I think often people who try or succeed at suicide care very much about life. Those who succeed just dont get that spark, that little intervention, that prevents them from doing it.
I know i personally only once in life i contemplated that, i had been dealing with problems, seeking help, had been given various meds that didnt help, went to the shelf one day, had decided i was going to take all those almost full bottle of meds and end it, had forgotten i had thrown them in the garbage the week before! Now why did i decide to clean off that one shelf, out of all the housework i needed to do? i wasnt thinking of tossing them as any type statement, or decision to straighten out my problems med free, i was just cleaning , so for me, fate stepped in, it wasnt me or will power or anything other then that empty shelf, that allowed me to go on, and now over 20 years later be living a good life

These souls who commit suicide are young in their evolutionary process. I think every soul has to deal with this choice. And the choice breaks down to "do you give up" or "do you try"... all I know is that I AM THAT I AM.. and I didn't get here by giving up therefore I must take a stand and try to reach and teach all those who I can.

It's like the child on the playground who looses and wants to take the ball away so no one else can play. Eventually you grow out of the stage... and until you do, you end up facing the same situations again and again until you learn the right way to deal with it.

I don't condemn suicide, I just feel bad that people who do it feel as though they have no options left. I do understand, and I think it's sad. I went through a bad period when I was younger, and contemplated it. But I realized there is too much in life for me to miss out on. Life may suck sometimes, but death sucks more. It's final. Life can change.

Having thought about it once, I can honestly say I have no views one way or the other. Is it wrong to kill yourself? I don't know, is it more wrong to kill yourself by degrees of addiction or bad chioces? I believe your life is given to you to do what you want with it. I would always try to help some one, but in the end if they are determined to leave I think they find a way to do it.

i don't condemn suicide. for those people who had committed suicide it's their choice and no one could take that away from them. i know that we will sooner or later die eventually, and suicide i think as of the moment is an option of those who wanted to die.
