If There are no more Bad sector on your Harddisk, That must be your windows registry must be fix and your must defrag the registry. Thats 2 thing make windows run very slow...
Just go to www.download.com , look for registry repair & defrag program. (there is a free and pay program you can chose)
It is better to if you always defrag your HHD

Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager. Go to Processes tab. Look at the CPU column and find the processes that are using a high percentage of cpu resource. That could be your problem. If not a system process, try disabling it. Observe improvement in speed.
You could opt to disable unnecessary processes in msconfig (Run msconfig).
Also scan for virus. The background process may have been planted by a virus.

Go to accessories and system tools and defrag your hard drive and do the disk clean up. Try that first. Then make sure your computer does recognize your 2gb's of ram, to be sure it's all being used and nothing went wrong with it. You can also use your recovery disk with out losing your data, it just reboots what came with your puter. Make sure its not a overheating prob.Jus a thing or2 to try
