hey check our question, the heading states
the equation is 4x-5(3+2x)=3. But later on you
write the equation as 4x+5(3+2x)=3.(notice the + sign)
if the heading is right than your answer is still wrong the
correct answer is as follows:
4x-5(3+2x)=3
4x-15-10x=3
4x-10x=3+15
-6x=18
x=18/-6
x= -3 (minus 3)

if the equation is 4x+5(3+2x)=3 than
4x+5(3+2x)=3
4x+15+10x=3
4x+10x=3-15
14x= -12
x= -12/14
x= -6/7

2007-09-21 21:53:20 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

4x – 5 (3 + 2x) = 3
4x -15 -10x = 3
-6x = 18
x = -3

4x + 5 (3 + 2x) = 3
4x +15 + 10x = 3
14x = -12
x = -12/14 or -6/7

Have you written the equation correctly? Your header equation is different from the one stated at the beginning of entry.

4x - 5(3 + 2x) = 3
4x - 15 - 10x = 3
- 6x = 18
x = - 3

Answer: x = - 3

Proof:
4(- 3) - 5(3 + 2[- 3]) = 3
- 12 - 5(3 - 6) = 3
- 12 - 5(- 3) = 3
- 12 + 15 = 3
3 = 3
