It has everything to do with the way they lost their majority the last time they passed gun control legislation.
In the south we are not sophisticated enough to give up our Second Amendment rights. Us hicks will vote you out of office if you support gun control.
If the Democrats ever want the South again, they will give up their childish obsession with gun seizure.

Does it really matter one way or the other whether or not Democrats take money from the NRA? It doesn't to me, because the Republicans do it, too.
And just as not all Democrats vote for gun-control, not all Republicans vote for gun rights. People in the South say that they are against gun-control -- yet listen to 'em squawk when someone wants to bring a loaded gun into Church....

Probably. I didn't realize that taking special interest money was a partisan issue.
I hate to rant, but BOTH parties take money from lobbyists. Our politicians are bought and paid for LONG before they take office. And yet, somehow, the American people play along like everything is O.K.
We are, without a doubt, the lamest democracy on the planet.
