I believe Andrew panicked when he saw the Taser Gun. Did you not Hear him yelling "Don't Taser me Don't taser me" He did NOT deserve to be treated like a criminal. and if you notice on the video the first person to taser him was a WOMAN Or maybe a butch *****?

This event angers me to no end, simply because the issue in question violates the right of persons in this country to exercise their rights in voicing their opinions. I have read many responses from people defending the actions of the police, citing the view that Mr. Meyer was violating the rights of others by taking too much time in asking his question. This response is asinine. Assuming that he was in fact violating the rights of his fellow students, the police response was incredibly violent and unnecessary. At the worst Mr. Meyer should have been escorted from the venue and barred from readmission. Arresting him violated not only his right to free speech, but also his right to be free from harm from authoritative bodies. Andrew Meyer is a GREAT AMERICAN for resisting the police in this situation and should be applauded for resisting the false arrest.

This student was totally out of order, he was also noted as a trouble maker and, was also told many times to stay down. However, I don't know if a "taser" was warranted. I have been in these situations and saw what has happened. These policemen don't sign on to get harmed, they want to go home at night in the same condition they came in. Why should they let someone that is totally out of control harm them or, someone else, this is their job, to "control" whether it is to "subdue" physically or with a "taser" this is what they do. That student, I'm sure knew that.

I have been in a situation where it took as many as six policemen to handle one man, and another time five policemen, all were injured in some way, bruised or beaten, why, because the person wouldn't listen and go down. This was before the Taser.

Free speach has or, had nothing to do with this, it wasn't an issure here, control was.

I totally support the police actions and they were not to violent. Mr Meyer did not get what he deserved there with the taser. That was just the beginning, the courts will give him the real trouble. Every American has the right to free speech, but it does have limits. Meyer violated the law by going past the limits and thus breaking the law by violating the other students rights and the rights of other people present. He also violated several other laws which you have not yet heard about in the press, but you will be in the future.

cops are dangerous people, did you see the woman who got tasered so many times she hit the ground head first? That fat bast*** cop should have his fat a** tasered 10 times and see how he likes it, cops are trash. they abuse the power they don't deserve in the first place. And they never lose their jobs! If we f'd up at work like they do, we'd be on the street in a heartbeat, no pay, no nuthin'. Theres a reason they call em pigs.

He stated his question. Was out of time, each questioner only gets so much time. Was told if he didn't abide by what the police were saying he would be tazered. The continued to act in a manner that got the results he was advised of. No it was not out of order.

I agree that he should've been allowed to continue his questioning and exercise his right to freedom of speech but he didn't exactly follow police orders. The cop even got it out so the guy saw it and still continued to kick and scream...he could've prevented it by going quietly so he faced the consequence.

IT DID SEEM EXCESSIVE, BUT WHEN A COP TELLS YOU TO STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING, IT USED TO MEAN SOMETHING.
IF COPS ENCIRCLED ME & TOLD ME TO SHUT UP, I WOULD EXPECT SOME KIND OF ACTION ON THEIR PART IF I DIDN'T COMPLY. WELL, THAT'S HOW THE COPS CHOSE TO RESPOND.
WOULDN'T IT HAVE BEEN EASIER IF ANDREW MEYER HAD JUST SHUT THE HELL UP INSTEAD OF TRYING TO ACT LIKE AN ACTIVIST FROM THE '60'S?.
