Any major city really - when is construction NOT going on.
But Cairns, Perth and Brisbane has alot going on right now....
I live in Cairns if you want to know anything. The BIGGEST contruction company however is Hedleys in Cairns.

Cairns has an enormous level of construction work. As locals who also run a business advisory service we are always being asked about the best way to attract staff in the building industry. Cairns will continue to grow and construction will continue to expand for many many years.

As answered before Cairns you will be be fine picking up construction work. Even after a year after the cyclone in inisfail they are still trying to catch up with the demand in cairns also anywhere in western australia is great cause they are still in a resources boom so tradies and assistance are snapped up pretty quickly
