Good Luck finding anyone in here that has been married to the same person for 36 years or more.

PS Longevity does not equal wisdom.... I know people that have been married 50 years that can't stand each other but don't want to give up their lifestyle and feel they are too old to start over.

Well I have been married for 20 yrs in April 08, have 4 children, 3 have graduated, 1 in the 8th grade. The happiness we have I think comes from the 3 C's

1. Consideration

2. Cooperation

3. Communication

And the all endearing, Trust.

I hope this gets me 10 points :-)

A good way to keep a marriage fresh is to start each and every day as the beginning of the relationship. Never hold grudges or go to bed angry at one another. Give one another praises for accomplishments and always forgive each other. And always say I love you. Especially at unexpected times. Smiles also help. Don't forget no one is perfect and we all have our quirks.

I've been married 42 years! Unfortunately, I won't be in another year. But, the answer is, you have to work on it. Be faithful, be loving, be romantic, do special things for them. All help a lot. If you run into problems, don't give up too quickly - try to work it out! COMMUNICATE!

I have married recently, that is 49 years back and living happily with the same partner. In retrospect , policy of little give and take, utter truth in your dealings,no selfishness and mutual respect for each other have helped.Cheatings are ultimately bound to be revealed and create rifts and should be avoided.

I am not married, but most all my friends have been for anywhere from 20-50 years. Communication, respect, honor, loyalty, God, caring, sharing, and putting each other first, children second, home third, and in laws fourth.

I've been married more years than that. I stuck to it because I promised myself that I'd never get a divorce.

Marriage is a" work in progress", if one works at a marriage, then the marriage will work. And if you don't work at it then all the bad things can happened.
