that's great you do some household chores, but i dont think guys should stop doing it if their wives are not showing their appreciation, probably the lady of the house are not satisfied of what their husbands doing, but i guess you have a credit for it,and dont let it happen for only that reason you'll stop helping around the house, its a great help bcoz it makes the chores easier, and if the children saw you, they will also appreciate and be proud of you, bcoz u do some household chores.not just only generating money, and as long as you know what is good and right,do it!goodluck

Men & women have arrangements in their relationships, whether they're straight, gay, lesbian, parents, siblings, you name it.
People have to work at relationships & housework is part of the compromise. Finding the chores you enjoy is bizarre but necessary - and those chores change over the years: gardens take more work, vacuums take less work, dishwashers make things easier unless they break down.
Life is full of compromises and if people can communicate about the chores they really can't stand - or even the bits & pieces of the chores - the relationship will be all the stronger for the effort made on each person's part.

Why would you stop doing it? Don’t you live there too? It’s not just her job to all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc, is it? Surely you don’t believe that her purpose in life is to your maid. It’s a JOINT responsibility. But, unfortunately, the wife usually ends up doing the majority of it, and when hubby does help, he wants a cookie for it.
Recently, my hubby washed the dishes, and although I said ‘thank you’, he wanted more appreciation. And here’s what I told him--over the course of our marriage (almost 20 years) I’ve probably washed the dishes close to 10,000 times (and I didn’t get a ‘thank you’ for doing it either). When he equals that, then we’ll be even.

You are a very thoughtful husband and your wife is showing you how much she appreciates what you do. Most guys are lazy and being a lazy bum myself, I would probably do more if I got more appreciation, and a few other things. I salute you on having a superb wife that knows a good man when she see's one.

well, yes and no. I tried and tried for years to get my husband to help me with things I couldin't do myself and although he was fully capable it was like pulling teeth. It got to the point that if I didn't nag, then it would never get done, or he would fly completely off the handle about it like a 3 year old. I HAD to do it all myself. So, in short, sometimes people no matter how nice you are, will always be an a**hole in return.

Onceisen you are obviously one of the women that doesn't show appreciation..... and to answer your question I agree 100% with you.... my husband helps out just as you do and I do appreciate it very much.... when you take your partner for granted then you will have problems. I'm sure many men stop trying because their wives expect them to constantly kiss their a$$es and go to work to support them and then come home and work like dogs there too.... who wouldn't get sick of that and stop trying

most men stop anyways..
they do what they have toooo.. like the yard.. not the little simple things a woman likes...
then want a big REWARD at midnight...

How sad.
You should do it just because you have pride in yourself.
So you need Browne points?
Most men don't clean up after themselves because someone else makes it easy for them to pawn it of on others.
When you do a good job do you feel the pride of accomplishment. This should be enough.
Good for you for helping clean up your own mess.
Now quit whining.
