no train is running between chennai and chidambaram directly . you have to travel upto villipuram and change a meter guage train to chidambaram.there are 3 passanger trains daily to chidambaram .depature timing at villipuram are as follows 05.05,13.45,18.10. it take 2.30 hours to reach chidambaram. train numbers are 815sr, 819sr,821sr respectively.

There is no train service between Chennai and Chidambaram.
