if they had the power to make a ship and send it at LEAST a dozen of light years away to get to us, I'm sure they'd have the power to kick our @sses.

but why not enslave us instead.

If they wanted to talk or negotiate. why not beam us a signal on our radios first?

Not in the sense of "little green men"; any aliens which possess technology equivalent or superior to our own (there are/have been most probably many, given the vastness of this universe), are still bound by the same fundamental laws of Physics, the most important theory being Einstein's Special.
This virtually precludes any quick form of interstellar travel.
Also, the universe has been around for about 14 billion years; we started broadcasting to the universe about 40 years ago to say "we are here"; that's about 0.0000003% of the age of the universe.
We would be much more likely to be taken over by unicellular organisms; indeed it is possible that this has already happened, and that's why we are here: the diaspora theory (I'm not keen on it)
If a meteorite were to land here with a very efficient microorganism on board, which could replicate at a very fast rate in earth conditions, then we "could" be taken over by aliens, but the chances of it happening are vanishingly small, so I would sleep easy

What makes you think they haven't already taken over the planet? This is a world rich with resources. Gold, silver, food, living space, and water among the most important.

There are theories that ET have made secret trade agreements with the government. Since the leaders are our 'elected' leaders and authorised to act on our behalf, there is no need for ET, by Galactic Federation laws, to make it known to the general public.

Another theory is that we, as a species were genetically engineered by ET many thousands, possibly millions of years ago; and the earth is thier 'farm', and we are thier 'livestock' and unwitting slaves. But, with us being an 'intelligent' species, it is too dangerous to allow us to know this.

Can't get sweet milk from discontented cows. And you can't get intense fear and anger out of an intelligent species that knows that's what you're harvesting from them.

How could you start a war if the participants know the only reason for it is to feed intense psychic energy to an energy based species?

Of course, this is all 'conspiracy theory'... isn't it? Isn't it?

The one drawback to a 'free speech' society is the ability to flood the populace with so many theories, some presented in plausible manner to get one half the people believing it; and some presented in such an absurd manner so that it can be easily discounted as 'crackpot' stories.

This gets the population into an endless debate, with no resolution. Funny, I seem to have described our political system to a 'T'...

I think we are not really a two party system; but rather, one private club that plays 'good cop, bad cop' with us all. Remember your high school debating club? It wasn't if you believed in the point you were assigned to argue, pro or con; but how convincingly you could argue it that counted?

I leave you to consider the implications of all this.

Denis Miller Disclaimer: Of course, this is just my opinion; I could be wrong.

I see you've been watching too many movies, and taking them way too seriously.

But I'd humor you. :-P

Why would they want to do that? If they can travel to our planet, their technology is obviously more advanced than ours. Why would they want anything from our planet then?

I think it will be fascinating if they see humans the way we see cattle, pigs, chicken, etc. Or maybe even treat us as pets. The former's a little morbid, I suppose, but I do think it's more interesting. *shrug*

We might see this planet as being full of resources, but who's to say that they'd think so too? Perhaps to them, food and fuel consists of something that doesn't exist on our planet. Maybe to them, everything on here is junk and useless to them.

As in War of the Worlds or Independence Day? :-) I highly doubt that would happen...at least for several hundred years when humans are able to travel further into space...
It's not exactly answering your question...its just a thought...lol.

a thousand years ago, maybe

But look at earth now, it's been mine off all of its mineral, coutries are now racing to destroy north pole environment to continue their search for petroleum and get rich.

By the time aliens reach us, we're already depleted of all resources. And maybe the Earth itself is screwed up completely.

Don't tell me alien wants to have humans lol.

Sometimes. Because, we can't tell it exactly. No one knows how brilliant are alians. If they are powerful than us, they can take over our planet. They have great knowledge, on account of their arrival to our planet. Human didn't go to any planet yet(not moon). But, they came to our planet. So, they are so knowledgeful creature than us.

It may happen sometimes.

First they have to get here and there is no evidence that they have visited. Nor is there any evidence that there is any intelligent life anywhere else in the Universe.
