Val Venis - Age & general gimmick. The porn star gimmick, while helping to push him to midcard status, failed to get him into the main event, and at his age and at this time, he won't ever get there.
Shelton Benjamin - Lacks the charisma to get the fans to care about him. Barely gets a reaction at all, really. If he had a tenth of Cena's charisma, he'd be pushed to the moon.
Matt Hardy - He lacks the "it" factor that determines the main eventers and the upper midcarders. There's nothing really stand-out or main event about him, really. However, of all of these guys, he's the most likely to be a main eventer.
Chris Masters - The wrestling ability. He's one of the worst wrestlers on the roster. Without the body, he's practically nothing, and even that's being lost.
Chuck Palumbo - His age might be the huge factor. P;us, nothing about him screams main eventer. Also, people who remember him from past bad gimmicks like Billy & Chuck won't take him seriously.
Charlie Haas - The reaction. The guy gets absolutely nothing when he comes to the ring, and the only time he did was when he accidentally knocked Lillian off the ring apron.

Ok one by one.
Val Venis - Credibility, he's been beaten way too much they would put the title on the Brooklyn Brawler before they put it on Val.
Matt Hardy - A slow down button, he'd leave most of the existing main eventers exhausted. He could mix it with Edge or Jeff Hardy if they where on the scene but he wouldn't mix it up well with Cena or Triple H
Chris Masters - How has this guy avoided a suspension, if he's not taking something then he's a freak.
Chuck Palumbo - A loving husband like Billy Gunn. No poor Chuck has WCW syndrome, he is a product of Vinces competition and won't be pushed.
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin - Size and mic skills spring to mind. They tried to make Shelton into a cross between Buff Bagwell and Ernest Miller a while back and it fell flat. Haas is a little lacking in charisma as well.

Val Venis - Way past his prime.
Shelton Benjamin - Just isn't getting a push
Matt Hardy - He's established himself, and he's good with the mid-card titles
Chris Masters- no variety of moves, overused gimmick (better-than-you gimmick), boring to watch
Chuck Pulumbo - still developing his gimmick, may be main event status in the future
Charlie Haas - hasn't done much in WWE. Not able to show his hidden talent.

Venis. Cool gimmick, had his chance, but he lacks the Size and Technical tools of a champion.
Benjamin and Haas did so well together as a tag team that they kind of typecast themselves.
Masters has the body and the skills, but lacks the charisma and mic skills of a champion.
Matt hardy...seriously. He doesn't have the body. He also did so well as a tag team he falls in the same slot as Haas and Benjamin.
Being a good tag teamer is kind of a stinker for a career. With the exception of Scott Steiner, and Bret Hart tag teaming doesn't do well for a good wrestlers career. (I don't count Shawn Michaels because I didn't think the Rockers were that great)
Palumbo jumped the shark with the billy and chuck thing. He is kind of trapped in B list. As fun as the Angle was for everyone I think it really compromised his integrity as a champion.

val venis - hes never been taken seriously because of his whole ex-porn star gimmick. that and the fact that hes never given tv time, wrestling and mic wise. i quite enjoy his work, but he hasnt got ''it''.
shelton - lacks mic skills, charisma, psychology, and isnt used as well and was someone with his talent should be. he has all the natural ability and athleticism in the world, but will never get over as heel or as a face because he doesnt have the character, nor the promos, to pull it off.
matt hardy - timing, timing, timing, psychology, psychology, psychology. he cant ''tell a story'' with his matches the way a main-event superstar should. and for someone of his stature, they need to have the total package in order to make it as a big time player.
chris masters - wrestling ability, mic skills, and psychology. the only move that got him over was his masterlock, and now that thats being broken no one is taking him as seriously anymore. and hed have a bad rep because of the suspension.
chuck palumbo - needs more moves in his repetoire. hes billed as the tough badass biker dude, but needs mic time, and more mat wrestling skills if hes gonna get over as a face. hes failed before, but i think he might just make it this time.
charlie haas - lack of gimmick, lack of charisma, promos, psychology. hes not gonna make it because of that.
it seems as though many wrestlers lack the timing and psychology to make it big time. but thats just how i see it.

No via fact i admire uncooked and watch it a week, Friday is purely too busy a nighttime to have Smackdown on and that i don't watch it each and every of the time. this is my very own stance on that. additionally I do like that they have wrestlers like CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, MVP, Swagger, and extra adult men who in all probability would not get a shot in one million years for the international Heavyweight identify if it they have been to cut up up the main important eventers. i like the undeniable fact that the smaller extra proficient adult men have photos on the heavyweight identify different than the super dudes like Shaemus Cena, and Triple H. I wager nonetheless that once Triple H returns somebody will flow to smackdown perchance area or Jericho, or maybe in all probability Orton. i think of they're going to shop Cena and Triple H continuously on their flagship prepare. this is my outlook on why they actually do it to offer different proficient superstars a heavyweight identify threat and to maintain their flagship prepare with the superb they have.

Well, if a non talent loser, like John Cena, can be a main eventer. Then, these 5 superstars can too.
