check out www.screenwriting.info for formatting information. the industry standart software is Final Draft, you can use word too if you can't get FD but make sure all your margins and font and all are correct. As for writing itself, there is a book by Dara Marks, it's called Inside Story. Pick it up and you'll set with all you need to actually write a successful story. From there it's all you. I'm close to finishing a major feature screenplay, and all i can say is that it's been an adventure. good luck

You have to combine imagination, creativity and descriptive writing skill. Imagine your story as if it were on film--detailing camera angles, frame sets....etc.

The plot: base it in a written form to go by as you write the script. Who are the characters? How do they play out in the story?

Dialogue: Who says what to whom?

Scene settings: sometimes, just what the camera captures tells a story--remember that.

Script writing is a demanding task---but if done right, can be the finest of cinema art.
