There are several ways to become a billionaire in eight months, but I can't think of many that aren't illegal. The easiest way would be to inherit the money.
Obtaining large sums of money on your own takes hard work and no one has ever gotten a lot of money without working hard. All the "rich people" in the world have either works hard to earn their money or someone cared enough about them to make sure they were well off (or they have won the lottery - and these people have mostly worked hard all their lives.)
Though it's not the easiest way to make money, becoming a business owner is the most sure-fire way to make a large sum of money. Try delving in real estate or something else you know EVERYONE needs (food is always a good thing to invest in.) Also, trading stocks, though a high risk, is a very quick way to make a lot of money.
If you want to make money try investing in CDs (no, not the musical kind) or treasury bonds. You basically give someone money, and earn interest at a faster rate than you would if you just put your money in savings.
Also, if you have a job, try taking out a 401(k) (or something similar) and putting 90-100% of your check in it. If your job matches your contribution, you could pull the money early (though typically not without a penalty.)

Of course there is! All you have to do is meet a billionaire and marry him! If you want a billion of something, why not try collecting a billion paperclips or something. Then you'll make the evening news, and then you'll have to find somewhere to store it.
